Notes,
Commentary, Restoration:
From included documentation, the controller had been used well up into
the 90's and maintained regularly. The cabinet had its last service call
in 2003 and removed sometime after that.
This Eagle EM-Series cabinet has been repainted and prepared for operation. Purchased from Scott Signal Co. to use with an existing EF-70 controller, this unit features the older pressboard style backplane and brass terminal
posts, with a round style connector. Overall in good condition, it had an assortment of decal residues as well as several drilled and patched holes. Despite being unpainted until now, the only corrosion was on the back where two pole mount
brackets were affixed (now removed). The unit was belt-sanded on the rough sides before applying three coats of Valspar Oil Base Metal Primer, Grey. Once cured for a week it was medium sanded before applying four coats of Valspar Oil Base Enamel, Farm Series Oliver Green before overcoating with a couple coats of generic clear. A day later, Do it Best Hardware Gloss Black was used to fill in the nameplate area, followed a few hours later by some ACE Silver for the lettering and the stripes of the cabinet. Timing
